John Iffland | Board Chairman
John Iffland, who is a retired U.S. Air Force Brigadier General, joined TSG in February, 2005 as member of the Board of Directors. In April, 2009 General Iffland became the CEO and in May, 2011 became the Chairman of the board. His focus will remain on rapidly expanding into new markets with complimentary service and software offerings, growing the company’s current base of GIS, technical services and digital imaging software, while continuing to broaden the corporate structure and developing and recruiting Senior Executive and Professional staff.
Executive level experience includes Vice President, International, with Argon ST where he developed new businesses in physical security and related programs while also establishing a branch of the company in the Middle East. Prior, he was Chairman of the Board and COO of Coherent Systems International, responsible for establishing a new corporate structure and processes for the rapidly growing company while developing new businesses and service offerings. Corporate revenues were doubled in eighteen months prior to being acquired by Argon ST in 2007. In his final military assignment, General Iffland was the Homeland Security Advisor to the Director, Air National Guard. General Iffland possesses a BS from California State University and a MA from Central Michigan University.
Craig McKinley | Board Director
Craig R. McKinley, who is a retired Air Force General, joined TSG in August 2017 as member of the Board of Directors.
Post military experience includes President and CEO, National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), President of the Air Force Association (AFA), and currently serving as the national chair of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). ESGR’s national chair is an official DoD volunteer position that provides leadership and vision to more than 4,000 volunteers spanning all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Additionally, he is currently serving on several boards, including many non-profits dedicated to supporting our military veterans and their families.
General McKinley retired after 38 years in the Air Force as a four-star general in November 2012. His last assignment was as the Chief, National Guard Bureau, where he also served as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In this capacity, he was a military adviser to the President, the Secretary of Defense, the National Security Council. He was the Department of Defense’s official channel of communication to the Governors and to State Adjutants General on all matters pertaining to the National Guard.
General McKinley was a command pilot in the Air Force with more than 4,000 hours, primarily in the T-38, F-106, F-16 and F-15. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas, in 1974; and received his Master’s degree in management and economics, at Webster College, St. Louis, Missouri, in 1979. He completed studies at the National War College, National Defense University, in 1995, earning a degree in National Security Management.
